Bad Meets Evil – Fast Lane

May 29, 2011

In case you didn’t know Eminem and Royce Da 5’9 are putting out an LP under their old name Bad Meets Evil.  Royce always has had a way of bringing out the best of Em.  This song is no exception.  The album should be sick.

Eminem, Royce Da 5’9, Mr. Porter & The Alchemist Freestyle on Tim Westwood

May 27, 2011

This is an old session of Tim Westwood.  It’s awesome.  Mr. Porter struggles to keep up with two lyrical titans like Royce and Em.

Slaughterhouse’s EP release party video

February 9, 2011

Slaughterhouse’s new EP dropped yesterday and its great.  Here’s a bunch of videos from their release party.  The first video kind of sucks, the guy at the beginning is hell of annoying and the audio was terrible so they edited it out and input the audio from the actual song.  There are better videos after the break.  Check em out:

Slaughterhouse EP drops today!

February 8, 2011

If you’ve been keeping up with infinite hip-hop (or hip-hop news in general) than you’ve probably heard alot about Slaughterhouse recently.  They finally officially signed to Shady Records January 12, 2011.  I wrote a little blurb last week about why they are some of my favorite emcees in the game right now.

The hip-hop supergroup self titled EP drops today and as I listen to it in its entirety I remember again why I love the their music so much.  The lyrical prowess these guys display is simply beyond what most rappers are capable of, the beats are on point and the energy that each one brings feeds the others.  They are simply great collaborators.

In a gesture of respect to the group I will not provide a download link.  I will, however, have the whole new EP available to stream after the jump.

“SLAUGHTERHOUSE!”

Slaughterhouse – Move On (Video)

February 3, 2011

In the wake of the Shady records/Slaughterhouse signing it seemed like a good time to enlighten the masses as to the lyrical prowess of the aforementioned Hip-Hop super group.  The group consists of Royce Da 5’9, Crooked-I, Joell Ortiz and Joe Budden, each of which are exceptional solo acts but combined create a hip-hop powerhouse virtually unmatched in the rap game today.  Each of there song is a mind bending back and forth between the streets of the ghetto, to the mainstream of American television and pop culture, to the erie depths of internet culture.

Slaughterhouse the group’s self titled depute album was released August 11, 2009 on E1 Music. It was recorded in six days and due to the groups underground nature only sold 18,600 of the 20,000 total albums shipped to stores in the first week.  With a powerhouse record label such as Shady/Interscope now backing the group along with the Eminem declaring he intends to work closely with them on their next project, it would not be unlikely to see a massively commercially successful album coming in the future.  All I can hope for is that the group stays true to the style that got them to where they are instead of selling out to the popular masses.  We shall see…
